Behind the Microphone (BTM) Media is managed by myself, Matthew Cocks.

My aim is to provide a comprehensive service for those looking for a professionally trained voice-over artist and broadcast media presenter.

Having held presentation roles across commercial and community radio, as well as for live audiences and online streaming services, I understand the importance of being well prepared, speaking with passion and creating a genuine connection to engage an audience.

I can provide you with a confident and professional voice for anything you need to be produced from behind the microphone.

EXPERIENCE

Currently, I provide play-by-play commentary for the NAB League and the Victorian Football League (VFL) Women’s competition, having held broadcasting roles with Victoria’s under-18 competition since 2017 and the top-level of Victorian women’s football since 2015.

I have also been a commentator for the 2015 AFL Women’s Exhibition Series, the 2017 AFL International Cup and multiple AFLW practice matches across the 2018 and 2019 seasons.

My broadcasting experience extends to currently collaborating with the online sports news website, Draft Central, to co-produce and host their under-18 football program, the Final Siren Podcast. Previously I held producing and presenting roles with RSN 927am, Australian Open Radio and news/sports programs on the Student Youth Network (SYN) 90.7fm.

I also have experience as a Master of Ceremonies, having hosted a variety of events including:

  • 2018 Special Olympics Australia National Games Closing Ceremony
  • Stars Down Under Water Ski and Stunt Show performances, including the 2018/19 Dubai Shopping Festival, 2017 Geelong Festival of Sails and 2015 Redcliffe Kite Festival
  • Pre-season launches and presentation night events for community sporting clubs
  • Community festivals and social events, including the Moonee Valley Relay for Life
